This initiative aims to raise community awareness on waste management and strengthen local capacity in maintaining a clean coastal environment as part of a sustainable port ecosystem.
PT Integrasi Logistik Cipta Solusi (ILCS), a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), remains committed to supporting sustainability in the operational areas of its Strategic Port in Makassar through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program – ILCS Blue & Green – in the coastal area of Tallo Village, Makassar.
This program focuses on increasing awareness of coastal communities regarding waste management through collaborative education with the Rajata Tallo Waste Bank and Maggot Tallo Waste Bank groups, as well as strengthening operational facilities through the provision of clean three-wheeled motorcycles and electricity networks. These efforts not only support the capacity building of local communities and fishermen but also strengthen the collaborative network of local communities in maintaining a clean environment and reducing marine pollution.
PT ILCS Corporate Secretary, Dimas Giri Prabowo, stated that this activity represents a concrete implementation of the company's commitment to supporting the sustainability of the port ecosystem.
"The Makassar Coastal Area is a strategic area with the presence of major ports in Eastern Indonesia. Through this Blue & Green program, we want to contribute to environmental sustainability, empower communities, and support the creation of green and sustainable ports and the development of a circular economy in the region," he said.
Furthermore, ILCS emphasized that the success of modern port management hinges not only on infrastructure and technology, but also on environmental sustainability and the well-being of the communities surrounding the port's operational areas. Through this program, ILCS hopes to encourage the creation of a clean coastal environment, healthier oceans, and the strengthening of resilient local communities in facing the challenges of climate change and building a greener, more prosperous future for future generations.
